GoodRun

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you sit down.

Plain answers about pricing, where your data lives, backups and switching from another app.

Pricing

How much does GoodRun cost?

GoodRun is one product with no tiers. The app and every online feature are included in one price, either a one-time purchase or a subscription. Which one is still being decided. There will be a 30-day free trial, no card needed. Pricing will be announced before launch.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: a 30-day free trial, no card needed.

Are there ads?

No. GoodRun has no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email address and no password. Open the app and start tracking. Only the exchange-rate update needs an internet connection.

Backups and your data

Where is my data stored?

On your phone. GoodRun has no servers that receive your poker data. Read the privacy policy for the details.

How do I back up my data today?

Open Settings > Import & Export and export a backup file. It holds everything: sessions, rebuys, notes, ratings, venues, stakes, trips and hands. Do it every few weeks and keep the file somewhere off your phone, such as your own cloud storage. The file is not encrypted, so anyone who has it can read it. Android’s own backup may also include the app’s data, depending on your phone settings. That is managed by Android and your Google account, not by GoodRun.

Can I move to a new phone?

Yes. Export a backup on the old phone and import it on the new one. You can add only what is missing, without duplicates, or replace everything.

Can GoodRun back up to my own Google Drive or Dropbox?

Coming soon, not available yet. Keep your backups in your own cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox): no GoodRun servers needed. Backups can be plain or encrypted with your password and an optional recovery key. Until it ships, export a backup file yourself.

Can I back up to GoodRun’s servers instead?

Coming later, not available yet. If you prefer, use the optional GoodRun account, included in the price, to back up to GoodRun’s servers. Backups are end-to-end encrypted, so GoodRun cannot read your data. The account also brings the web dashboard and friends features. The app works fully without an account.

What online features are planned?

Coming later, not available yet. An optional GoodRun account, included in the price, with backup to GoodRun’s servers, a web dashboard and friends features. All are end-to-end encrypted, so GoodRun cannot read your data. GoodRun stays fully usable offline, without an account.

Can I export my data?

Yes, whenever you like. You can export a full backup (JSON), your sessions as a CSV for Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, and an exact copy of the database.

Moving from another app

Can I bring my history from another app?

Yes. GoodRun reads exports from Poker Bankroll Tracker, Poker Analytics and any spreadsheet (CSV). Poker Manager and Pokerbase are coming soon. See the switching guides.

What if I do not like GoodRun after the trial?

Switching back is easy. Today GoodRun exports a backup (JSON), your sessions as a CSV and a database copy. Coming soon: export to the formats of Poker Bankroll Tracker, Poker Analytics, Pokerbase and spreadsheets, so you can move back and forth.

Will importing the same file twice create doubles?

No. You see a preview first, and sessions already in GoodRun are skipped.

Using GoodRun

What does mindset mode do?

It hides monetary results, either during sessions or all the time, depending on your settings. Your sessions are still recorded so you can review them when you choose.

Can I record hands?

Yes. The hand recorder opens on the table: tap a seat to add a player, tap a player to enter a stack. You can replay recorded and imported hands step by step. See what is new.

What does location do?

It is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, GoodRun uses it on your phone to suggest the venue you are at. It is never sent anywhere.

Availability and contact

Is it on Android and iPhone?

GoodRun is in a closed test on Android through Google Play. Public downloads are coming soon. An iPhone version is coming later. See the beta page.

How do I reach you?

Report a bug from inside the app and every report is read. In-app bug reporting is coming soon, and a contact email will follow.

Something not covered?

The contact address is coming soon. Until then, the privacy policy and the switching guides go into more detail.
